Details: Volodymyr Zelenskyi, who was answering questions from aboard a plane headed for Brussels, said that the use of Russian money is one of the topics he will discuss at a meeting with the President of the European Commission, Ursula von der Leyen, and the President of the European Council, Antonio Kostu.

“I cannot be responsible for their (EU leaders and EU member states) decisions. But everyone understands and shares our opinion that in the end this decision must be made – so that the frozen assets of Russia, which destroyed and is destroying Ukraine – work for Ukraine,” he said.
Zelensky emphasized that Ukraine will have serious problems if there are no funds, so the option of no agreement is not considered.
“We are counting on this money. I don’t know if it will be a reparation loan or if it will be an alternative – it depends on the unity of Europe and some skeptics. But I am sure that this issue will be resolved… The leaders understand that Ukraine cannot do without this money. And the source (way of allocation – EP) of this money is a matter for Europe,” the president explained.
Volodymyr Zelenskyi emphasized that these funds should be used either for reconstruction, “or for armaments, if the war does not end.”
Seven states wrote a letter to the EU leadership regarding the “reparation loan” to Ukraine. The main opponent remains the Belgian government. At the weekend, the President of the EC met with the Prime Minister of Belgium and Mertz to discuss Rosactivs.
We should also note that Hungary has blocked the alternative to the “reparation loan”.
