Later, at the police station, the witness became very nervous, which aroused the suspicion of law enforcement officers. Eventually, he admitted to the police that there were drugs in his backpack. Police found 67 zip-top bags of cannabis weighing more than 50 grams.
The Sykhiv District Court of Lviv sentenced him to four years in prison, but changed the sentence to three years of probation. Also, the accused must pay almost 9 thousand hryvnias to the state for procedural costs. The verdict can still be challenged in an appeal.
During the trial, the accused repented, fully admitted his guilt and asked not to be severely punished, as he had drawn the appropriate conclusions.
The judge of the Sykhiv court Olena Horban examined all the case materials and data about the accused, his positive characteristics and lack of criminal records.
