Details: The fire, which has been extinguished for the fifth day, started at the oil depot after it was hit by drones. In connection with this, a state of emergency was introduced in the city.

As a result of the elimination of the fire, two employees of the Ministry of Emergency Situations died, another was sent to the hospital.

The governor writes that “the amount of smoke, as well as the area of ​​the fire, is decreasing.”

On the night of January 8, as reported by the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation, 11 drones were allegedly shot down over the Saratov region, the debris of one of them fell, as reported by local authorities, on an “industrial facility”, which caused a fire.

Astra wrote that the oil depot of the “Krystal” combine of Rosrezerva – a federal public institution entrusted with the responsibility of storing fuel for the “Engels-2” air base – caught fire. Later, this information was confirmed by the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

What preceded: On the night of January 8, the Defense Forces of Ukraine hit the “Krystal Kombinat” petroleum products storage base in Engels, Saratov region of the Russian Federation. Numerous explosions were recorded near the target, and a large-scale fire started.
