The investigation is verifying the legality of issuing a pension in accordance with the Law “On the Prosecutor’s Office” of 1991, as well as the validity of determining its amount in court. As part of the proceedings, the law enforcement officers find out whether the requirements of the legislation were complied with during the submission of documents, decision-making and execution of court acts, which became the basis for pension provision.

The Prosecutor General’s Office stressed that the person being investigated is not a current prosecutor and does not hold any position in the prosecutor’s office. Pension payments are carried out by pension provision bodies in accordance with legislation and court decisions.
