The OGP noted that the prosecutor’s office in court debates insisted on finding the Russian serviceman guilty and sentencing him to 10 years of imprisonment.
“We do not agree with this verdict (exculpatory – ed.)because we believe that the collected evidence clearly points to the commission of a war crime by the accused. The state has an obligation to ensure the inevitability of responsibility for crimes against Ukraine, and we will use all mechanisms provided by law to restore justice,” said Dmytro Sinyuk, the senior prosecutor in the case, prosecutor of the OGP department.

The Kyiv region, which was partially under Russian occupation from February 24 to March 31, 2022, was liberated from Russian troops at the beginning of April 2022. After the retreat of the Russian military, mass murders of civilians were recorded in the liberated cities and villages, and numerous testimonies about the atrocities of the Russian military were collected.
The Kremlin “categorically rejects any accusations of the killing of civilians”, even though the facts of the killing of civilians during the Russian occupation were confirmed by satellite images.
