After that, the self-proclaimed president of Belarus, Oleksandr Lukashenko, pardoned 123 political prisoners, including Viktor Babariko, who was not allowed to run for the presidential elections, and his associate Maria Kolesnikova, and Nobel laureate Ales Bialiatskyi.
114 released persons were handed over to Ukraine, among them Babariko and Kolesnikov, as well as 5 citizens of Ukraine. Another 9 people, including Bialiatskyi, were handed over to Lithuania.
