The department noted that the Defense Forces of Ukraine showed high professionalism from the beginning of the operation, providing civilians in the Kursk region with humanitarian aid, meeting their humanitarian needs, and also providing the opportunity to leave the areas of hostilities.

Taking into account the humanitarian situation and the need to properly ensure fundamental human rights in the Kursk region, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs appealed to the UN to participate in humanitarian response measures and sent a corresponding note.

In addition, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs sent a similar appeal to the Red Cross as the guarantor of international humanitarian law. The ICRC is asked to monitor compliance with international humanitarian law in accordance with the Geneva Convention.
