The diplomatic agency notes that thanks to the adoption of the resolution, citizens of Ukraine abroad will have the following opportunities:
- issuance of ID cards with delivery of a ready-made card by mail (only one visit to the embassy or consulate is required to submit documents);
- issuance of foreign passports in one visit to collect biometric data, followed by receipt of the finished document by mail;
- registration in the State Register of Taxpayers through embassies and consulates;
- exchanging a driver’s license or obtaining it after loss or theft;
- comprehensive service for registration of newborns – state registration of a child’s birth (issuance of a birth certificate), registration of a child as a citizen of Ukraine, etc.
“The Ministry of Foreign Affairs continues to build a modern, mobile, digital and service-oriented consular service. I am convinced that millions of our citizens abroad will appreciate the innovations that simplify access to the services of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs through digitalization. There is no need to travel many kilometers twice to submit and receive documents. This is a real saving of time and money for our citizens,” said Minister of Foreign Affairs Andrii Sybiga, commenting on the approval of the resolution.
After the start of the full-scale invasion of the Russian Federation into Ukraine, millions of Ukrainians live abroad. According to the Ukrainian authorities, there are 7.5 million Ukrainians.
