The basic combined military training will consist of two elements: a theoretical and a practical course, Deputy Minister of Defense, Brigadier General of Justice Serhii Melnyk said on TV.

“Yesterday (January 15 – ed.) President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi signed the draft law adopted by the Verkhovna Rada on amendments to the Law of Ukraine on military duty and military service. The law provides for changes regarding the acceptance of Ukrainian citizens for military registration, as well as their medical examination during basic military training. We introduce basic general military training for students, as well as students of higher educational institutions. Basic combined military training will consist of two elements: a theoretical and a practical course,” Melnyk noted.

According to him, the theoretical course will be implemented in all higher education institutions and will be taught in 1-2 courses for all students, both men and women. He noted that “only men will take the practical part of the course in training centers, and women can also take the practical part of the training if they wish, if they register for military service at local territorial recruiting centers.”

Melnyk noted that “during basic military training, citizens will acquire knowledge and skills in various military disciplines. The main emphasis will be on: tactical, fire, reconnaissance, psychological training, as well as combat survival.”

Earlier, the Ministry of Defense noted that in January, the electronic referral to the VLK will appear in the “Reserve+” application.

On May 18 last year, the law on mobilization entered into force. Among other things, it provides that all conscripts, conscripts and reservists aged 18 to 60 must update their data. You can update the data in the “Rezerv+” mobile application.
