The Minister of Defense of Italy believes that Ukraine has no chance of returning the occupied territories

According to Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosetto, Ukraine has no chance of regaining Crimea and the territories lost as a result of a full-scale Russian invasion in 2022. Source: as European Truth writes, Crosetto said this in an interview with journalist Bruno Vespa for his new book, quoted by Ansa Agency Details: Excerpts from Vespa’s book “Finimondo” (translated as “The Great Mess”) were published by Mondadori-Rai Libri on the eve of its release. “The return of territories lost in 2014 and after February 2022, today all consider it impossible,” Crosetto said in an interview. “Russia will never give them up, and Ukraine will not have the strength to win back these territories on its own – even with our help. Putin cannot retreat either, because he changed the constitution, declaring the occupied territories “Russian” in every sense, and thus put himself in a situation where he cannot negotiate,” the minister added. Crosetto also expressed his regret that many Italians have been influenced by Russian propaganda and disinformation. “Russia is already waging a hybrid, cognitive war against us. We, as ordinary citizens, do not even notice how its propaganda penetrates our thoughts and the formation of cultural ideas – through sophisticated influence in social networks and the media, through scientifically constructed infiltration, as well as classic corruption methods,” Crosetto said. Earlier in September, Crosetto said that Italy was not ready for a potential attack from Russia or any other country. Crosetto also called for rethinking NATO in light of the changing balance of power in the world.”, — write: www.pravda.com.ua
