Details: The investigation found that in April 2025, a serviceman who previously left the military unit found his intention to return to the Armed Forces. In connection with the expiration of the terms of voluntary return, he was informed that the further procedure of action would be explained by a representative of the military unit.
In May 2025, the suspect in the military rank “Junior Sergeant”, acting as a mediator, called a serviceman and offered for a cash remuneration in the amount of at least 200,000 UAH assistance in transfer from a reserve battalion to another military unit, and a criminal proceedings, as well as a criminal proceedings.
After agreeing to the proposal, the serviceman appealed to law enforcement agencies and continued to be under control, the prosecutor’s office said.
During a personal meeting with another official of the military unit, the suspect, by prior conspiracy with unidentified officials, again stressed the need to transfer undue benefits – this time in the amount of $ 3,000. In case of refusal, he threatened to transfer to the combat team.
On May 29, the serviceman transferred the suspect to the first tranche of unlawful benefits in the amount of 2,000 euros. He was then appointed to the post of driver of the gas station.
On June 2, the junior sergeant received the second part of a bribe in the amount of 40,000 UAH near one of the hypermarkets of the city of Nikolaev. In response, he assured the military of the unobstructed passage of further service without involvement in hostilities.
Immediately after the transfer of the suspect’s cash was detained by law enforcement.
During the searches at the place of the scene, the received funds were removed, as well as part of the previously transferred illegal benefit in the amount of 1,000 euros.
The petition is being prepared for the arrest of the suspect.
In addition, the involvement of other officials of the military unit is established in the crime.
