In an evening address on Tuesday, November 5, President Volodymyr Zelenskyi said that he had discussed with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiga the changes among the heads of Ukrainian embassies.

Today, a lot has been determined regarding the issues of our diplomacy. Together with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, they discussed the candidacies of ambassadors of Ukraine for vacant positions in the respective countries, as well as the results of the work of our diplomats. We are preparing replacements and appointments,” says Zelensky’s Telegram.

As the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine reported in response to Babel’s information request, there are no ambassadors in almost 30 Ukrainian embassies.

In particular, there are no ambassadors in the following countries: Algeria, Angola, Belgium, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Armenia, Ghana, Greece, Georgia, Ethiopia, Iran, Kazakhstan, Cameroon, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ivory Coast, Kuwait, Lebanon, Mauritania, Malaysia, Mozambique, Moldova, Norway, Oman, Rwanda, Thailand, Tanzania, Turkey, Hungary, Philippines.

Earlier it was reported that Zelensky dismissed Vasyl Bodnar from the position of ambassador of Ukraine to Turkey and appointed him ambassador to Poland.

On October 23, the mass media reported, citing data from the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, that the highest-paid Ukrainian ambassadors are representatives of diplomatic agencies in Moldova, Chile, and Austria. At the same time, Valery Zaluzhnyi, the ambassador of Ukraine to Great Britain, is in fifth place.
