It would be the first meeting between US and Iranian officials since the breakdown of talks and the 12-day war last June.
It takes place against the backdrop of a large-scale build-up of the US military presence in the Persian Gulf and statements by US President Donald Trump that the only way to avoid a military conflict is to conclude a deal quickly.
The planned meeting is the result of diplomatic efforts by Turkey, Egypt and Qatar over the past few days.
Iranian state media also reported that President Massoud Pezeshkian instructed to resume negotiations with the Trump administration.
Witkoff is expected to travel to Israel on Monday and meet with Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Tuesday, an Israeli official said. Witkoff will also hold a meeting with the Chief of the General Staff of the Israel Defense Forces.
After that Witkoff will head to Abu Dhabi for the tripartite peace talks with Russia and Ukraine scheduled for Wednesday and Thursday. From there, he is expected to travel to Turkey for talks with Arakci.
