Despite the absence of official confirmation of the visit, the leader of the far -right Austria Herbert Kikl has already managed to publicly indignant with this “foreign policy miss”, which, in his opinion, “makes Austria a potential target in the event of escalation.”
“This visit is another chain in a chain of neutrality and inaccurate neutral policy of recent years. Austria as a neutral state should be a peacemaker and mediator, not a side of the war,” he said.
It should be noted that this will be the first visit to Zelensky to Austria since the beginning of a full -scale invasion of Russia in 2022. In March 2023, the Ukrainian president performed in the Austrian Parliament through video.
