“The Kyiv City State Administration states that water confluence is a standard technical measure at sub-zero temperatures and does not mean a long-term lack of heat.’ According to the message of the press service of the KMDA, during accidents in frosty weather, when the circulation of the heat carrier is temporarily stopped, draining water from home heating systems is a mandatory technical action, since water freezes quickly at sub-zero temperatures, and draining can prevent damage to networks and equipment. The Kyiv authorities emphasize that the draining of water does not mean that the heat will be absent for a long time, this procedure is used even when the disconnection can last several hours or a day – this is a safety requirement. The KMDA noted that today’s night attack was the largest since the beginning of autumn – the Russian army fired 36 ballistic and cruise missiles and almost 250 drones at the city. Due to damage to elements of the critical infrastructure, a large part of residential and other buildings temporarily remained without supply, the water from the home systems in these buildings was quickly drained to protect the pipelines from damage while the restoration of heat continues, the Kyiv administration added.”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
