It is the events of May 3, 2014, when the Russian administration banned entering the Crimea to the head of the Majlis of the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev. In response, the Crimeans went to peaceful protests and partially blocked the roads on the routes of Simferopol – Sevastopol, Kherson – Gianko – Theodosius – Kerch and other directions.
According to the prosecutor of the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, Igor Ponochovny, criminal proceedings were opened in Ukraine for more than 3,800 military crimes and crimes against national security, which were committed by Russian citizens in Crimea. Currently, the Ukrainian courts have approved about 200 sentences in this category of criminal cases, and another 580 cases are under consideration.
According to the press service of the ARC Prosecutor’s Office, as of July 16, 150 former judges from the Crimea accused of treason were sentenced in absentia.
