The International Olympic Committee presses on winter federations to allow Russians and Belarus to competition

The International Olympic Committee (IOC) calls on the International Ski Federation (Fis) and the International Union of Biathlonists (Ibu) To allow Russian athletes to international competitions.

About it reports Svt.

MOC puts strong pressure on Fis and Ibureferring to the successful reference of the participation of neutral athletes in the Summer Olympics in 2024 in Paris.

The IOC is expected to make a decision to allow Russians and Belarusians in neutral status to the 2026 Olympics (February 6-22). The problem is that without admission from Fis and Ibu Prior to international competitions, Russian and Belarusian athletes will not be able to score the necessary rating points to win Olympic licenses.

President Ibu Olle Dallin has confirmed information that IOC pressure is indeed:

“It can be said that the IOC believes that such an approach would be useful for the Olympics in Milan. But now the existing decision is that Russia and Belarus remain discharged, so we do not discuss this issue,” the functionary said.

Recall that on Wednesday, February 26 in the Norwegian Thronemeim, the World Cup of 2025 starts in skiing.
