On January 1, Russian troops struck the infrastructure of “Ukrzaliznytsia” in three regions: Odesa, Sumy and Volhynia, the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine – the Minister of Development of Communities and Territories Oleksiy Kuleba said.

“The buildings of the locomotive depot in Kovel were damaged, about seven hits by enemy drones were recorded on the territory. Also, the Russian army hit the station in Konotop, damaged freight cars. In addition, the occupiers hit the logistics infrastructure of Odesa with “Shakhed”, there is still a threat of repeated attacks, which complicates the recovery work,” Kuleba wrote in a telegram.

According to him, the attack did not affect the movement of trains.

The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

The Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes of the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful in nature.
