According to him, today more than 55% of social facilities are already connected to heat, among them more than 5,000 kindergartens, almost 6,000 educational institutions and more than 2,000 health care institutions, and residential buildings in 13 regions are already partially connected. “This heating season started with unprecedented attacks by our enemy on energy and heat generation facilities. Objects of the housing stock, heating and water supply and sewerage facilities suffer daily from enemy shelling. We are predicting a difficult winter, but despite this, the technical readiness of utilities’ heat supply enterprises allows us to start the heating season,” Kovalchuk noted.
He also emphasized the importance of judicious use of resources.
The heating season has already begun for the social sphere. Today, October 28, the heating season for the residential sector should begin.
On October 25, Minister of Energy Svitlana Grynchuk said that the decision on the start of the heating season is made by each region independently, but with a decrease in temperature, it may start in the coming days.
The mayor of Kyiv, Vitaliy Klitschko, said that this year’s heating season will be the most difficult in all the years of the full-scale war.
Last week, the government allocated 8.4 billion hryvnias from the reserve fund of the state budget for the heating season, and the company “Naftogaz of Ukraine” will receive these funds for the purchase of imported natural gas.
According to the legislation, the heating period begins no later than when the average daily outdoor air temperature for three days is 8 degrees Celsius or lower, and ends no earlier than when the average daily outdoor temperature exceeds 8 degrees Celsius for three days.
