Details: A new 20 million euro aid package from the Netherlands will be directed to strengthening Ukraine’s energy network, which has been seriously damaged by targeted attacks by Russia.

The money is intended both for the repair and protection of energy facilities, and for the decentralized production of electricity, the message specifies.

In addition, the head of the Dutch diplomacy announced an additional contribution of 7 million euros to NATO’s Comprehensive Assistance Package for Ukraine. Within its limits, the Alliance provides Ukraine with non-lethal support – fuel, medicines, winter equipment, etc.

During his visit to Kyiv, Veldkamp held talks with the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiga and the Deputy Prime Minister for European and Euro-Atlantic Integration Olga Stefanishyna.

The minister assured that the Netherlands remains committed to the new EU sanctions against Russia and will continue to make maximum efforts to achieve justice for Ukrainian citizens.

In December 2024, the ambassador of the Netherlands to Ukraine, Alle Dorhout, said that the country had already allocated 3.8 billion euros for Ukraine, and six more were planned.

Before that, the Netherlands announced its intention to allocate an additional 22 million euros to Ukraine for initiatives related to the development of cyber resistance and air defense systems.
