Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiga started his first foreign tour and arrived on a visit to Romania, where he met with his Romanian colleague Luminicea Odobescu.

“We are very grateful for the Romanian Patriot system. We continue our joint work on promoting the Peace Formula. We agreed on mutual respect and the best European standards in the protection of national minorities of both countries,” he said.
“It is an honor for me to welcome Andrii Sibigu to Bucharest on his first foreign visit after his appointment,” wrote the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Romania.
Odobescu noted that she confirmed Romania’s support for Ukraine against the background of Russian aggression and Romania’s readiness to support Ukraine on its way to EU membership.
“Romania remains committed to further developing our bilateral strategic partnership in the interests of our citizens and for the protection of the rights of people belonging to national minorities in both our countries,” she added.
As announced by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the visit to Bucharest is the first point in the regional tour of Andrii Sibiga.

The Verkhovna Rada voted to appoint Sybiga to the position of Minister of Foreign Affairs instead of Dmytro Kuleba on September 5. Before that, from April 2024, he was the first deputy head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, and before that he was the deputy head of the President’s Office.
