The head of the Czech Foreign Ministry, Jan Lipavsky, reacted to the statement of the country’s president, Petr Pavl, who believes that Kyiv should accept the fact that some territories may temporarily remain under Russian control. He emphasized that one can only trust the “peace plan” of the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi. Lipavskyi wrote about this on the X social network, reports UNN.

The only peace plan that deserves trust is President Zelenskyi’s plan. Who, if not us, knows that peace talks “about us without us” are the road to hell. This is exactly what I emphasized at the meeting of the EU Foreign Affairs Council in New York

Context

Czech President Petr Pavel, a former NATO general who actively advocates for Ukraine, noted that Kyiv must accept that some territories may remain under Russian control, at least “temporarily.”

Pavel predicts that the situation could drag on for years, and the end of the war will probably be somewhere in the middle, without defeat on either side.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine stated that the country will not give up its own territories and leave them under the occupation of Russian troops.
