The GUR announces the HIMARS strike during a field meeting of Russian officers in the Zaporizhzhia region

Three senior officers of the Russian army were “liquidated” as a result of the operation of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, the press service of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine reported on December 27.

“Employees of the GUR obtained information about the planned meeting with the participation of officers of the command of the 4th Guards Military Base of the occupation forces of the Russian Federation, who are participating in the criminal war against Ukraine in the Zaporizhzhia region,” the post reads.

The intelligence officers noted that immediately after the start of the field meeting, the Defense Forces launched a high-precision strike with HIMARS and drone attacks on a cluster of Russian officers and their vehicles.

According to the GUR, as a result of the operation, three officers of the Russian troops were “liquidated”, and five units of automobile equipment were also destroyed.

The Russian side did not comment on this information.

On December 15, the Security Service of Ukraine reported that the Defense Forces conducted a “multi-stage special operation” as a result of which Russian fuel tanks were destroyed. The locomotive was hit by a HIMARS MLRS of the “Tavria” OSUV.
