At the Zaporizhzhya NPP (ZEP), the IAEA team heard the explosions that came from the outside of the stations every day, including several explosions at close range on the morning of January 30. There were no reports of damage at the station itself.
Zaporizhzhya NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. Russian troops occupied the city of Energodar and located near him Zaporizhzhya NPP in early March 2022.
The territory of the station periodically undergoes shelling in which Ukraine and Russia are accused of each other. The Ukrainian authorities also stated that the Russian army was used by the NPP to store military equipment and dislocation of its servicemen.
