The government terminated the powers of Shurma in the Naftogaz Supervisory Board

The Cabinet of Ministers has prematurely terminated the powers of Rostislav Shurma as a state representative in the Supervisory Board of NJSC “Naftogaz of Ukraine” at his request, the representative of the government in the parliament, Taras Melnychuk, said.

“The authority of Rostyslav Shurma, a member of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine, as a representative of the state, has been prematurely terminated, according to the submitted application,” he wrote in a telegram about personnel decisions of the CMU.

In January 2026, the statutory three-year term of office of the current Supervisory Board expires. On November 18, the Cabinet of Ministers announced a competition for candidates for the positions of independent members of the Supervisory Board of Naftogaz of Ukraine.

In August 2023, Bihus.Info journalists reported on the payments of UAH 320 million by SE “Guaranteed Buyer” for the electricity of solar plants in the temporarily occupied territories, which included objects related to the brother of the then deputy head of the OP and a former subordinate of Shurma. NABU opened criminal proceedings regarding payments for electricity from solar plants in the occupation. As the publication “Economic Truth” wrote, these five companies that belong directly or indirectly to people from Rostislav Shurma’s entourage appear in this proceeding.

On September 3, 2024, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, dismissed Rostyslav Shurma from the position of Deputy Head of the Office of the President. The reason for the dismissal was not specified in the document.

On July 15 of this year, German law enforcement officers searched a house near Munich where the former deputy head of the Office of the President of Ukraine, Rostyslav Shurma, lives. This happened at the request of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine (NABU).
