The government has approved the procedure for implementing the “40+ Health Screening” program, Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko reported.

According to her, the program, which will become operational on January 1, 2026, is aimed at early detection of diseases that most affect the length and quality of life of Ukrainians – cardiovascular diseases, type 2 diabetes and mental health problems.

“Every Ukrainian man and woman over the age of 40 will receive a personal invitation to Diya on the 30th day after their birthday. After accepting the invitation to Diya.Kartka, UAH 2,000 will be credited, which can be used exclusively for health screening. For those who do not use Diya, there will be an alternative way through banks and Central Banks,” she wrote in a telegram.

Svyridenko added that the examination will be possible in state, communal and private institutions that meet the requirements of the Ministry of Health and the National Health Service for participation in the “Health Screening 40+” program.

The Ministry of Health should publish a list of such institutions.

UAH 10 billion has been earmarked for the implementation of screening in the 2026 state budget, the Prime Minister added.

The Ministry of Health specified that anyone over the age of 40 can be a participant in the program. Ukrainians aged 40 and over will be invited to undergo screening – 40, 50 or 60 years old.

The 40+ Health Screening includes a questionnaire and assessment of individual risks (including cardiovascular disease, type 2 diabetes risk, and mental health status), a physical exam, and laboratory tests showing heart, blood vessel, and kidney function.

After passing the screening, a person will receive personalized recommendations regarding lifestyle and health. The doctor can also immediately prescribe certain medications if necessary.

The Ministry reminds that there are already more than 700 drugs in the “Affordable Medicines” program that can be obtained free of charge or with a partial co-payment.
In particular, it is about supporting people with cardiovascular diseases and diabetes.
