The government has approved an action plan for updating the composition of supervisory boards and executive bodies of economic entities of the fuel and energy complex, Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko announced in a telegram.

According to her, the key task is the renewal of management through the formation of a new composition of supervisory boards of all state-owned companies in the energy sector.

In particular, as Svyridenko notes, Energoatom plans to form a new supervisory board, Naftogaz will hold a competitive selection for the supervisory board, the formation of Naftogaz Group executive bodies (Ukrgazvydobuvanny JSC, Ukrnafta JSC, Gas Distribution Networks of Ukraine LLC), Ukrhydroenergo will appoint a state representative to the supervisory board, a competition for the position of the head of the executive body, and “Ukrainian GTS Operator” and “Ukrenergo” will update the representatives of the state in the composition of the supervisory board.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy held a meeting with Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko on November 14. The Prime Minister reported on the launch of audit processes in state-owned companies. Zelenskyi said that during the meeting it was determined that the deadlines for inspections should be prompt, and all results should be sent to law enforcement and anti-corruption agencies for appropriate response.

Before that, against the background of NABU’s investigation into Energoatom, Svyridenko announced a “comprehensive decision” regarding all state-owned companies, including energy companies.

On November 10, NABU announced the disclosure of the activities of a criminal organization, the main focus of which was “systematic obtaining of illegal benefits from Energoatom’s counterparties in the amount of 10% to 15% of the value of contracts.”

In this case, eight persons were notified of suspicion in this case. “Schemes” published a complete list. According to sources in the law enforcement agencies, this is a businessman, co-founder of the studio “Kvartal-95” Timur Mindich (code name “Carlson” on NABU tapes), ex-adviser of the Minister of Energy Ihor Myronyuk (“Rocket”), executive director of security of “Energoatom” Dmytro Basov (“Tenor”) and four more “employees” of the so-called “back office for money laundering”: among them Oleksandr Zukerman (“Sugarman”), Ihor Fursenko (“Ryoshik”), Lesya Ustymenko and Lyudmila Zorina. Later, the former Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of National Unity Oleksiy Chernyshov was also informed about the suspicion of illegal enrichment.

One of the suspects – Oleksandr Tsukerman (“Sugarman”) called the accusations of NABU and SAP “lies” and promised to return to Ukraine. Timur Mindich did not comment on the case.

Meanwhile, the NSDC imposed sanctions on both of them.
