Deputy Head of the Office of the President Olena Kovalska, Advisor to the President of the Fund of the President of Ukraine for the Support of Education, Science and Sports Olha Budnyk, and Permanent Representative of the President in the Autonomous Republic of Crimea Tamila Tasheva held an online meeting with representatives of foreign educational institutions, diplomatic institutions and public organizations regarding the activities of the Global Coalition of Ukrainian Studies. This was reported in the President’s Office, reports UNN.

Details

Olena Kovalska noted that Crimean Tatar studios should become part of the project, stressing that Crimea is an integral part of Ukraine. “We want the leaders of Ukrainian students in the world to have the support of the Ukrainian state. That is why we are creating this coalition with the aim of coordination and close interaction with the state. This is our general vision of such support,” she said.

Olga Budnyk emphasized that the Global Coalition is being created with the support of First Lady Olena Zelenska and at the initiative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Ministry of Education and Science, the Fund of the President of Ukraine for the Support of Education, Science and Sports, the Ukrainian Institute and the office of the Crimean Platform. “When we created this coalition, we combined all efforts here in Ukraine to make Ukrainian studies as popular as possible in the world. It is important to understand that within this coalition we also want to provide the main messages that are important to spread around the world,” — she noted.

Tamila Tasheva emphasized that one of the panels was held within the framework of the summit of the international Crimean platform, at which Olena Zelenska called on the member states of the Crimean platform to join this initiative. “Now we are developing the possibility of creating a project office in order, in particular, to contact the participants of the Crimean Platform, who, we hope, will provide support to the coalition in various formats,” Tasheva added.

Addition

The global coalition will promote the popularization of knowledge about Ukraine, including the Crimean Tatars and other indigenous peoples, and will also coordinate relevant initiatives within the framework of state policy.

There are three levels of participation in the project. At the basic level, foreign educational institutions will be able to open and expand courses on the Ukrainian language and culture, as well as hold public events on Ukrainian studies. The middle level involves cooperation with Ukrainian institutions of higher education, holding exhibitions, presentations and involving specialists in Ukrainian studies. At a high level, it is possible to organize a separate department or center of Ukrainian studies, studio visits to Ukraine, conferences, round tables, project competitions or summer schools.
