“Now we will monitor the development in this specific case. And, if necessary, we may have to take measures in this case as well,” he said.
The spokesman of the German government added that at the moment “we have confidence in the government of Ukraine that it will take care of solving this issue, as well as in anti-corruption authorities – that they will open this case and bring it to a logical conclusion.”
Finland previously also said that the corruption scandal in the government of Ukraine will not have a negative impact on the European Union’s plans to provide financial assistance to Kyiv.
Earlier, it was reported that the National Anti-Corruption Bureau of Ukraine published an investigation into a major corruption scheme at Energoatom NAEC under the name Midas.
The organizer of the scheme was businessman, co-owner of Kvartal-95 and former partner of President Zelensky, Timur Mindych. The prosecution noted that Mindich exerted influence on the former Minister of Energy Herman Galushchenko and the former Minister of Defense Rustem Umyerov.
On the morning of November 12, Prime Minister Yulia Svyridenko announced that Galushchenko, who is currently the Minister of Justice, was removed from his post after a high-profile NABU investigation into corruption at Energoatom.
