The General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the morning of September 16 that 173 combat clashes were recorded at the front during the past 24 hours, most of them in the Kurakhiv direction.

“In the Kurakhiv direction, the Defense Forces repelled 42 attacks. The occupiers most actively tried to advance in the areas of the settlements of Kostyantynivka and Georgiivka. In addition, the enemy attacked in the direction of Ukranian, Dolynivka, Katerynivka, Selidovy and Zhelanno Drogo,” the message reads.

36 Russian assaults of the past day were in the Pokrovsky direction. “Our defenders stopped 36 assault and offensive actions of the aggressor towards the settlements of Vozdvizhenka, Novotoretsk, Zelene Pole, Novooleksandrivka, Grodivka, Novogrodivka, Marynivka and Mykhailivka. The greatest concentration of enemy attacks was near Grodivka and Novogrodivka,” the command informed.

In addition, according to the General Staff, there were 24 Russian attacks in the Lymansky direction, 20 in the Kupyansky, 16 in the Toretsk, 12 in the Siversky, and 10 in the Vremovsky.

“According to detailed information, yesterday the enemy launched a rocket attack on the positions of Ukrainian units and populated areas using one rocket, as well as 77 airstrikes, in particular, dropped 117 anti-aircraft missiles. In addition, he fired 3,888 shots, 114 of them from rocket salvo fire systems,” the message reads.
