Today, 20 combat clashes took place in the Kostyantynivskyi direction. Russian troops stormed the positions of Ukrainian units in the areas of Predtechine, Pleshchiivka, Ivanopillia, Yablunivka, Rusyn Yar and Sofiivka settlements, the command says.

On January 22, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, stated that the Defense Forces continue to restrain Russian troops in Pokrovsk and Myrnograd in Donetsk region, as small groups of the Russian Federation are trying to infiltrate the northern regions of both cities. He noted that as a result of the active assault actions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, another attempt by the Russian invaders to capture these settlements was thwarted: “The active operational reserve of the occupiers suffered significant losses. At the same time, the situation remains difficult.” Russia does not officially announce its losses in the war against Ukraine.

The day before, the “East” military group reported that Ukrainian units continue active operations in the area of the Pokrovsk-Myrnograd agglomeration and control the northern parts of both cities.
On January 19, Syrskyi reported that a grueling confrontation is ongoing in the Pokrovsk-Myrnograd agglomeration area: the Russian army is pulling up reserves to Pokrovsk, looking for opportunities to break through Ukrainian defenses both through sporadic mass assaults and through the covert advance of small infantry groups.
Fighting in Pokrovsk has been going on since October 2025, when the Russian army managed to break through to the city after several months of fighting on its slopes. Almost immediately, Russian soldiers began to be recorded in Pokrovsk’s satellite city of Mirnograd. On the map of the DeepState project, most of both are now under the control of the aggressor, the rest is in the “gray zone”. The Pokrovsky direction, according to the reports of the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, constantly leads in terms of the number of Russian assaults.
