The General Staff of the Pokrovsky Direction: Heavy Fighting continues, the Russian Federation has concentrated more than 110,000 military

In the Dobropilsky and Pokrovsky directions in the Donetsk region, units of the Ukrainian forces conduct heavy defensive battles and “take effective measures” to stop the promotion of Russian troops, the General Staff of the Armed Forces said.

It is reported that in the Pokrovsky direction the invaders concentrated a group of more than 110 thousand people.

“To penetrate the depths of our defense, Russian invaders act boldly. Despite the loss, they try to seep sabotage and small infantry groups through our defensive order. In particular, several small groups of the enemy, bypassing the positions of Ukrainian defenders, attempted to advance in the direction of the settlement of the Golden Well. In addition, using the peculiarities of the local landscape sabots, secretly penetrated the settlements of Vesele, Free, Rubizhne, Kucheriv Yar. Some of the groups have already been destroyed, the rest is in the process of destruction, ”the message reads.

The General Staff noted that the situation is “difficult and dynamic.”

“The decision of the Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine to enhance the stability of the defense allocated additional forces and means. Measures to block the enemy groups in a certain area are planned. Reserve units have already discovered the enemy and have the first successes: the invaders are destroyed and captured, ”the command said.

Earlier, the Deepstate project recorded the promotion of Russian forces in the northeast of Dobropillya.

The Pokrovsky direction in the Donetsk region is one of the hottest areas of the front. Over the last year, the largest number of combat clashes is mainly recorded there.

The American Institute of War Study (ISW) in its report of August 11 stated that Russian troops probably recently captured Razine, Sukhetske, Fedorovka, comfort, Boykivka, Novotoretsky, protected (all southeast of Dobropillya), Lighthouse and Pankivka (both east). ISW points out that to call Russian advancement in the area of Dobropillya a breakthrough of an operational level prematurely, although Russian troops are likely to turn their tactical advancements into a breakthrough of operational levels in the coming days.

Analysts say that the next few days in Pokrovskaya area will probably be critical for Ukraine’s ability to prevent the accelerated advancement of Russia north and northwest of Pokrovsk.
