“According to the headquarters, the situation in the Pokrovsky and Kurakhiv directions remained the hottest today”, — write: www.radiosvoboda.org
In the Pokrovsky direction, since the beginning of the day, Russian forces have tried 52 times to wedge themselves into the Ukrainian defense near Myrolyubivka, Promen, Vozdvizheneka, Lysivka, Dachenskyi, Novy Trud, Shevchenko, Novoelizavetivka, Novovasylivka, and Vovkovo.
In the Kurakhiv direction, the enemy attacked the positions of the Ukrainian military 18 times – it was most active in the areas of Petropavlivka, Slovianka, Dachny, and Kurakhovo.
Also, Russian troops continue to attack in the Kharkiv, Kupyan, Siver, Kramatorsk, Toretsk, and Dnieper directions.
According to the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), their priority remains unclear from the actions of the Russian military on the front line, as Russian President Vladimir Putin could have tasked the Russian army with securing territorial assets, rather than capturing large population centers.
ISW analysts, based on the study of geolocation data as of December 24, write that the Russian military is at a distance of about 10 kilometers from the border of Donetsk and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
