According to the headquarters, high activity of the enemy is currently maintained in the Pokrovsky direction – ten times today clashes of varying intensity have started. Near the settlements of Sukha Balka, Myrolyubivka, Promin, Lysivka, Dachenske, Solone and Novovasylivka, the Ukrainian military repelled nine attacks.

The General Staff notes that in the Kurakhiv direction near Sontsivka, Stary Terny, Andriivka, Kurakhovo and Dachnoy, Ukrainian troops repelled three assaults, five more clashes are ongoing.
In the Kupyansk direction, the enemy tried to advance to Ukrainian positions in the area of Lozova and Kolisnikivka four times during the day, three attacks were successfully repelled, and one battle is ongoing. On the Lymansky and Siversky directions, there were seven clashes each near Tverdokhlibovo, Zeleny Gay, Terni, in Serebryansky forest, Bilogorivka, Hryhorivka, and Verkhnyokamyansky.
In the Toretsk direction, the Russian army tried to advance eight times in the Toretsk and Shcherbynivka districts – three attacks were successfully repelled by the Armed Forces, and five clashes are ongoing.
As reported by the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Oleksandr Syrskyi, as of December 17, the Defense Forces are conducting active combat operations on a section of the front with a total length of more than 1,170 kilometers, the most difficult situation now is in the Pokrovsky and Kurakhiv directions.
Sirskyi also reported on December 17 that the Russian military has been conducting “intense offensive actions” in the Kursk region for the third day, actively using units of the North Korean army.
