Russia lost about 866,000 of its military during the full -scale invasion of Ukraine, including 1140 – in the last day – such data as of the morning of February 22, the General Staff of the Armed Forces.

Russia and Ukraine do not provide information about their losses in the war. Moscow officially called the number of killed in September 2022 – then declared 5937 dead. Western sources estimate the number of Russian dead and wounded in more than 600,000 people, not taking into account the losses of North Korean soldiers who participated in the battles.

According to the Commander -in -Chief of the Armed Forces Alexander Sirsky, Russia lost more than 48 thousand soldiers during the battles in Kurshchyna, in particular, about 20 thousand were killed.

Kyiv also did not voice losses for a long time, stating that the data would be disclosed after the war. At the same time, on February 16, President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky said in an interview with NBC News that since February 2022, Ukraine lost more than 46,000 soldiers and about 380,000 in the war.

On February 4, 2025, he reported that since the beginning of the full -scale war, Ukraine has lost 45100 thousand soldiers killed, 390 thousand were injured. The number of wounded Russian soldiers of Ukraine then estimated at 600-700 thousand (300-350 thousand killed) from 50 to 70 thousand Russians, according to Zelensky, there are missing missing.
