The former Crimean politician Ruslan Balbek was detained in the Russian Federation

In Russia in the territory of the Kabardino-Balkar Republic detained the former deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation from Crimea Ruslan Balbek, the press service of the Russian Interior Ministry on the occupied peninsula reported on September 22.

According to the department, Russian security forces investigate under the articles of Part 3 of Art. 272 and Part 5 of Art. 128.1 of the Criminal Code, concerning unlawful access to computer information protected by law.

Other details of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of Russia does not reveal.

48-year-old Ruslan Balbek lived in Crimea and before his occupation, in 2007–2012 (in fact only until 2010) was a delegate to the Kurultay of the Crimean Tatar people, but in 2010 he ran to the Verkhovna Rada of Crimea from the Socialist Party of Ukraine for violation of the Kurultai decision.

Supported the occupation of Crimea, in April 2014 joined the ruling party “Unified Russia”

Balbeck held the position of Viceremer of the Russian Government of Crimea from 2014 to 2016. He then became a deputy of the State Duma of the Russian Federation, where he held the position of Deputy Chairman of the Committee of the Russian Parliament for Nationalities until October 2021.
