Russian troops struck a car with a drone in the village of Hoptivka in the Kharkiv region, there were casualties, reported Oleg Sinegubov, head of the regional military administration.

“The event happened on January 21 at 6:30 p.m. An enemy FPV drone hit a car that was moving through the village. The 56-year-old and 44-year-old civilian men who were in the passenger compartment of the car died on the spot,” he wrote in a telegram.

The Prosecutor General’s Office announced the start of a pre-trial investigation into the commission of a war crime (Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

The Russian military regularly attacks Ukrainian regions with various types of weapons – attack UAVs, rockets, anti-aircraft missiles, and anti-aircraft missiles. Often, according to local authorities, Russian drones attack civilian cars in the frontline regions.

The leadership of Russia denies that the Russian army during a full-scale war inflicts targeted strikes on the civilian infrastructure of the cities and villages of Ukraine, killing the civilian population and destroying hospitals, schools, kindergartens, energy and water supply facilities.

Ukrainian authorities and international organizations qualify these strikes as war crimes by the Russian Federation and emphasize that they are purposeful.
