“According to the information of the Joint Forces Group, the Russian military in Kupyansk received an order to simulate control over the city, waving Russian flags where their small groups are present. The occupiers have begun placing flags in supply packages for their own military, which are being dropped on the city by drone. At least one such “operation” has already taken place – we expect a quick and somewhat truncated video at the end in all Russian media,” the message reads.
The Joint Forces Group emphasized that, despite the statement of Russian officials about the encirclement of Kupyansk, most of the city is under the control of the Defense Forces of Ukraine, and Russian military groups in the northern regions are cut off from ground supplies.
“The current action is an attempt to make a good impression with a bad game and to cover up the obvious lies of the head of the Russian regime. At the same time, the Defense Forces of Ukraine are grateful to the Russian commanders for helping to “illuminate” the small groups of infantry scattered around Kupyansk with similar actions. This makes the work of Ukrainian drones easier,” the military said.
President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyi announced on November 15, following the results of a meeting with the participation of key leaders of the defense and security sphere, that the Russian military was unable to capture Pokrovsk and Kupyansk within the deadlines planned by their command, “and the deadlines were postponed again.”
