The forces of the Russian Federation again attacked the previously destroyed power plant – “Centrenergo”

On the night of January 20, the forces of the Russian Federation attacked a non-working thermal power plant owned by PJSC “Centrenergo”, according to the press service of the company.

“Although the station was completely destroyed earlier, the enemy attacked it again tonight. There are no casualties. After the shelling, specialists began to dismantle the rubble,” says Centernergo.

According to the company’s information, “since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, its thermal power plants have been subjected to more than 50 shellings, due to which losses have already exceeded 250 million euros.”

Russian troops launched another large-scale missile attack on Ukraine in the morning of January 15. The operator “Ukrenergo” introduced emergency shutdowns in several regions. The head of the Lviv region reported two hits to critical infrastructure facilities in the region.

According to the Ministry of Energy, since October 2022, Russia has carried out more than a thousand strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure facilities, and in 2024 alone, 9 GW of generating capacity was lost due to strikes.
