The folding iPhone will look like two iPhone Air, connected together – Bloomberg

Apple prepares its first folding iPhone, which, according to analysts, may appear at the end of 2026. Despite the absence of official confirmations, insiders are already shared the first details of design and characteristics.

According to Bloomberg journalist Mark Gurman in his Power Online newsletter, the novelty will look “like two iPhone Air, connected together.” This means that the smartphone will be relatively thin, although it is probably thicker than competitors – Pixel 10 Pro Fold (10.8 mm) and Galaxy Fold7 (8.9 mm). For comparison, the iPhone Air has a thickness of 5.6 mm. At the same time, the analyst of the Min-Cuo believes that the device can be even thinner-about 4.5 mm.

As for the price, expectations are less optimistic. According to gourmet, a folding iPhone will cost at least $ 2000, and possibly more expensive, which will make it more expensive than competitors.

Among the advantages of the future smartphone is the increased strength. The device, like the iPhone Air, will be made of titanium, which has proven itself well in the tests of JerryRIGEVERYTHING and IFIXIT. The latter also rated AIR repair capacity of 7 points out of 10 – a rather high figure for modern smartphones. If a complex iPhone gets a similar score, it will be an important breakthrough against the background of weak competitors’ results. Pixel Fold and Galaxy Z Fold7 scored only three points.

Thus, Apple plans not only to enter the market of folding devices, but also to bet on a thin design, titanium strength and better repair, even despite the high price.
