On Friday, January 17, the first ministerial meeting in the Ukraine-Southeastern Europe format took place in Kyiv. Representatives of the foreign ministries of nine countries came to Ukraine. This was announced on the website of the Ukrainian Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
“This is a very important meeting for the ministry, which develops the Ukraine-Southeastern Europe format, implements the agreements of our leaders, deepens cooperation between our states for the sake of security, peace and justice in Europe,” said the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andriy Sybiga.
At the meeting, the heads of foreign affairs discussed the key issues of strengthening regional cooperation, supporting Ukraine, and “joint progress on the path of European integration.”
The ministers also adopted a joint communique, where they supported the territorial integrity of Ukraine and its defense potential, the need to restore a just and lasting peace, as well as the principle “nothing about Ukraine without Ukraine.”
Representatives of Moldova, Slovenia, Albania, Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Montenegro, North Macedonia, Romania, Turkey, Serbia, Greece and Bulgaria took part in the first ministerial meeting in the format of Ukraine — Southeast Europe.
