Law enforcement officers have started a pre-trial investigation under Part 3 of Art. 258 of the Criminal Code, namely as a terrorist act that led to the death of a person.
According to the prosecutor’s office, the first explosion occurred when two National Guardsmen were patrolling the territory, as a result of which one of them died, another National Guardsman and a site guard were injured. The second explosion rang out at the moment when police officers and medics who arrived on call were already working on the spot – two police officers were injured.
At this time, it is known that an improvised explosive device exploded, the prosecutor’s office adds.
Earlier, the police reported that an explosion occurred in the Darnytsky district of Kyiv on December 11. It was known that as a result of the detonation of an unknown device, one person died and another was injured.
