In 2025, the European Union will allocate more than 30 billion euros to Ukraine, which will almost completely cover the financial deficit of the Ukrainian budget.

Details: Von der Leyen reminded that in 2025, Kyiv will receive funds from the EU within the framework of the Ukraine Facility program, as well as a joint initiative with the G7 regarding the use of extraordinary income from frozen Russian assets for the benefit of Ukraine.
“2025 will be a decisive year… We have to make sure that Ukraine wins and put Ukraine in a position of strength. Europe has already provided Ukraine with almost 130 billion euros (aid). And we have ensured economic and financial stability (of Ukraine) until the end of 2025 – this is good news. With the Ukraine Facility and our joint loan with the G7, we will even cover most of Ukraine’s financial deficit in 2025. This is a great achievement.” – she informed.
According to the head of the European Commission, this “gives Ukraine more fiscal opportunities to purchase much-needed military equipment.”

At the end of October 2024, the G7 finalized the parameters for providing a $50 billion loan to Ukraine, which was agreed upon in June at a summit in Italy. And already on November 28, the EU and Ukraine signed a memorandum of understanding regarding the provision of macro-financial assistance for 18.1 billion euros at the expense of frozen Russian assets.
