“That is why we have decided to complete the import of Russian energy. It is extremely important for our own security, as well as for our solidarity with Ukraine. This is what is on the agenda,” the European Commissar said.
Answering questions about the attitude towards contacts between the United States and Russia in the context of the end of the war in Ukraine and the assumptions about the likelihood of renewal of importing Russian gas to Europe, he stressed that neither now nor the EU in the future intends to import “no molecule” of Russian energy.
“This is a very clear signal from us. We do not want to import any molecules in the future … The European Union is very clear in this – we do not want energy from Russia in the future. We do not want it now, and we will not have such a desire after (reaching) peace,” Jorgensen stressed.
On Tuesday, May 6, European Commission She presented a road card complete cessation of imports of Russian gas by the end of 2027, as well as minimizing imports of Russian oil.
At the same time, Hungary and Slovakia still rely on pipeline Russian gas and oil as a major source.
Robert Fitzo Prime Minister stated that the European Commission’s Road Map is in its current form unacceptable to the Slovak government.
With him agreed to him Hungarian colleague Victor Orban, who statedthat “the proposal of the President Ursula von der Liaien will lead to the bankruptcy of Europe and put an unbearable burden on the family of Central Europe.”
