Details: Ukraine and the European Union have reached a fundamental consent to review the provisions on trade liberalization under the Association Agreement between Ukraine and the EU.

“We are pleased to inform that the Commission and Ukraine have reached a fundamental agreement on the revision of our bilateral in -depth and comprehensive free trade agreement after the end of the consultation process under Article 29. This Agreement opens a new chapter in trade relations between Ukraine and the EU,” Hefchovich said.
He said that the new version of the agreement “establishes long -term predictable and mutually beneficial framework, which will benefit exporters, businesses and farmers on both sides, as well as strengthen Ukraine’s path to EU membership.”
The Agreement, in particular, contains Ukraine’s obligations to gradually bring its agricultural production standards closer to the EU standards by 2028, in accordance with the purposes of accession to the EU.

- Earlier in the European Commission, “Euro Truly” was told that on June 6, “trade visa waiver” with Ukraine will come into force transitional measures that will return Ukrainian exporters to tariff quotas within the existing free trade area of Ukraine with the EU, with some preferences.
- Transitional measures will take place until Ukraine and the EU have completed negotiations to amend the existing in -depth and comprehensive free trade area of Ukraine with the EU, the new edition of which will contain long -term conditions for Ukrainian exporters in the EU, including elements of further liberalization of trade.
- Even at the end of April, “European truth” wrote that the European Commission did not plan to continue the regime of autonomous trade measures for Ukraine (the so -called “trade visa waiver”), which operates until June 5, but will ensure a smooth transition to a new scheme, in accordance with Article 29 of the Association Agreement: where all the conditions of liberalization will be recorded.
