On Tuesday, December 3, the Embassy of Ukraine in South Korea issued recommendations for Ukrainians staying in the country, amid the declaration of martial law there.
The agency calls on Ukrainians to follow the instructions of local authorities, to refrain from participating in mass events, in particular, of a political nature.
They also urge to follow official messages through the channels of the Embassy of Ukraine in South Korea.
“In case of going out, we recommend that you carry identification documents with you. Please remain calm,” the message reads.

On December 3, South Korean President Yoon Seok-yeol announced the introduction of martial law in the country. He accused the country’s opposition of being “controls the parliament, sympathizes with North Korea and paralyzes the government with anti-state activities.” Making a statement, the president promised “root out pro-North Korean forces and protect the constitutional democratic order.”
The South Korean parliament later voted to lift martial law, writes The Guardian.
The AP reports that Yoon Seok-yeol’s approval ratings have fallen in recent months, and he has been struggling to push his agenda against the opposition-controlled parliament since taking office in 2022.
It is noted that the Korean conservative People’s Party of Yoon Seok-yeol “deadlocked” with the liberal opposition Democratic Party over the 2025 budget bill.
