The Embassy of Ukraine in Ireland has confirmed the death of a citizen of Ukraine, Vadym Davydenko, who was fatally wounded in a stabbing attack.

As the diplomatic mission reports on its Facebook page, the Child and Family Service of Ireland (TUSLA) informed about this on October 15.

The embassy adds that they are in close contact with the Irish police, who are investigating the circumstances of the tragedy, and are also in touch with the family of the deceased.

The diplomats add that they are providing the necessary support to the family and are preparing for the repatriation of the deceased’s body to Ukraine.

Earlier, The Irish Times reported that a 17-year-old boy from Ukraine died of a stab wound in the capital of Ireland, Dublin. The publication reported that the incident occurred on Wednesday, October 15, in the residential complex Grattan Wood, in the center of emergency accommodation.

The police and emergency services arrived on a call about a stabbing and found a seriously injured minor Ukrainian who, despite the efforts of the medics, died on the spot.

The police detained another foreigner – he was immediately taken to the hospital with cuts, there is no threat to his life. A woman with cuts was also taken to the hospital.
