According to WIK, women were most often used by women – 65% and only 35% of men. In three quarters, 18-year-old users received 181 935 260.40 UAH for their accounts. However, not everyone used the money to buy books.
The Ukrainian Institute of Book notes that 62.98% of money spent the book participants on books, 12.17% of the funds remain in the recipients and another 24.85% of the money was returned as unused.
Almost 40% of books were purchased in stationary bookstores and more than 60% in online stores.
Participants of the program spent the most in the bookstores of Kyiv and in Lviv and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
In the summer of 2025, Weik reported that among young people the most popular under the “Eknige program were books Volodymyr Stanchyshyn, Andriy Semiankov, Illarion Pavlyuk, Anastasia Levkova, Vasyl Symonenko and Lina Kostenko.
About the Ekniga program “Ekniga” – The State Support Program, within which Ukrainians and Ukrainian women, who are 18 years old, can receive 908.4 UAH of assistance for the purchase of books during the year. She started working in mid-December 2024, and the payments began on January 3, 2025.
Funds within three months can be used exclusively to buy paper, electronic and audiobook in Ukrainian in bookstores and publishers involved in the program.
