Details: At the beginning of the TSC meeting, Zheleznyak noted that the people’s deputies invited representatives of the State Border Service to ask them how the alleged organizers of the corruption scheme, businessman Timur Mindich Oleksandr Zukerman, left the country. No one appeared from the DPSU.

Zheleznyak’s direct speech: “We, as TSK, are now making a separate invitation specifically to Serhiy Deinek (head of the State Security Service – ed.). Suddenly, if he does not appear, TSK will use the mechanism of coercion through the National Police to communicate on this topic.”
Details: The State Border Service, in its turn, published an official explanation regarding the legal grounds for the participation of the agency’s representatives in the meeting of the Temporary Investigative Commission (TCC) of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on the investigation of possible illegal actions by officials of state authorities, other state bodies and business entities of the state sector of the economy, which could harm the economic security of Ukraine.
Border guards say that to the letter of the head of the TSK, which was received on December 8, the DPSU gave a “reasoned answer about the lack of legal grounds for the participation of representatives of the State Border Service in the meeting” and duplicates it in the official message.
Literally DPSU: “This is due to the fact that the State Border Service of Ukraine is not included in the list of bodies, in respect of whose officials the TSC has the authority to conduct investigations.
In addition, the raised issues, which the people’s deputies planned to bring up for discussion, do not belong to the competence of the TSK itself, because they concern, in particular, the defense sector.
The Department always acts on the basis, within the limits of authority and in the manner provided by the Constitution and laws of Ukraine.
DPSU is open to discussions and is ready to provide the requested information, but only within the limits of the current legislation of Ukraine.
Under the conditions of creation of legal grounds, such as the expansion of the powers of the specified TSC, the DPSU will act accordingly.”
