“According to Rustem Umerov, the approach changed with the “enemy’s tactics””, – WRITE: www.radiosvoboda.org
According to him, earlier fortifications were built on the principle of battalion areas of defense and company strongholds with a considerable length of connections (two to five kilometers).
“But the tactics of the enemy have changed: they do not operate classic battalions and mouths now, mostly using small infantry formations with the support of unmanned systems during the assault. In response to a change in the tactics of the offensive actions of the enemy, a new model was introduced-spatially smaller support points with the length of the connections of 60-70 meters, with mandatory antitrone cover, which are more difficult to detect and which effectively perform the tasks of defense, restraining and applying fire damage, including the FPV.
The minister also stated that as of the middle of 2025, more than 50% of the work planned for this year has been completed, and fortifications are adapted to priorities in specific areas.
“Fortification is not only concrete and trench, but also an adaptive engineering system that takes into account the tactics of the enemy and always works for one thing: the protection of our soldiers. We control the process daily and strengthen the areas where it is needed, ”Umerov’s words quote in the Ministry of Defense.
Earlier this month, MPs reported that the Verkhovna Rada’s meeting summoned the Minister of Defense Rustem Umerov – for a report on fortification in Sumy, Kharkiv, Zaporizhia and Dnipropetrovsk regions.
In May, the Deepstate project noted that engineering and forming structures on the front continue to be built, but the problem is not in their availability, but as such fortifications, “which should keep up with the times and plan on a step forward, because the war is not standing.”
